"Keyword research that actually helps"
I’ve been using it for keyword research, it’s been solid. It gives me useful keyword ideas without making the whole process feel overwhelming. It’s one of those tools that just makes the work a little easier, and that’s such a relief when you’re trying to figure out what people are actually searching for.

"Competitor research felt a bit too shallow"
I really wanted to like SpyFu, but the competitor research just didn’t go deep enough for what I needed. It did show some useful info, but a lot of it felt basic, and I kept running into gaps where I had to go do the extra digging myself. That kind of defeats the point for me. It’s probably fine for quick checks, but if you’re trying to really understand competitors in detail, it can leave you with more work than expected.

"Rank tracking didn’t really hold up for me"
I mainly signed up for the rank tracking, but it didn’t work as well as I’d hoped. The updates felt slower than what I’ve seen with other SEO tools, and the rankings didn’t always seem that accurate. The SEO insights were basic too, so I kept ending up back in competitor tools to double-check things. For what I needed, it just wasn’t worth sticking with.

"Took Me a While to Feel Comfortable"
I had a hard time figuring out the dashboard at first. It felt a bit cluttered, and I kept clicking around wondering if I was in the right place or about to change something by mistake. I’m cautious with new tools, so I ended up taking it slow just to avoid messing anything up.

"I use SpyFu every now and..."
I use SpyFu every now and then, and I had to reach out to support about a billing question on my account. To be fair, they did get back to me and the person I spoke with was polite, so it wasn’t a terrible experience or anything.
My issue is that it took longer than I expected, and it felt like I was stuck waiting because of those little policy loopholes where nothing is technically wrong, but the customer still ends up being the one inconvenienced. It did get sorted out eventually, but I really wish the response time was faster and the process felt a bit less like waiting around for someone to interpret the fine print.

"I gave it a shot for PPC..."
I gave it a shot for PPC research, but the ad data didn’t really line up with what I was seeing in my niche. A lot of the competitor ads looked outdated, and the keyword numbers were different from what Google Ads was showing me. Obviously no tool is going to be perfect, but if I’m paying for PPC data, I expect it to be reasonably close and easy to use. The reports also felt clunky, so I cancelled after testing it for a bit.

"Pretty solid for the price"
For what I paid, I’m happy with it. It’s affordable, does what I need it to do, and I haven’t had any real issues. Like, is it the fanciest thing ever? No. But who cares, it works...

"Reporting and exports have been a pain"
I mainly signed up because I needed to pull reports and export keyword data, but it’s been more frustrating than helpful. The exported files don’t always line up with what I’m seeing in the app, and the formatting is messy, so I end up spending extra time cleaning everything up in Excel.
The reporting options also feel limited and not that easy to customize. For the kind of work I’m doing, it slowed me down instead of saving time, which feels totally preventable. It might be okay for quick checks here and there, but for clean, reliable reporting, it hasn’t really been worth it for me.

"The data just didn’t feel reliable"
I tried using it for keyword and competitor research, but the numbers didn’t line up with what I was seeing in other tools. A lot of the competitor info also felt outdated, and I kept running into missing results or stuff that just looked off. I didn’t really feel confident reaching out to customer service either, since I’ve learned not to expect much beyond canned responses with these kinds of tools. For me, it’s not worth paying for if the data doesn’t feel fresh or trustworthy.
